Tracing timber origin

Our methods

At Timtrace we develop and test timber tracing methods. These methods include:

(1) genetic analysis, using SNPs based on whole-genome chloroplast sequencing,

(2) stable isotope ratios (δ13C, δ18O, δ2H, δ34S) and

(3) multi-element analysis, including trace elements and rare earth elements in wood.

We also compare the accuracy of methods. And we combine methods to increase tracing accuracy.
